Mr. Yu Kan Hing founded Sunbeam Mfg. Co., Ltd. in Sham Shui Po of Hong Kong to provide work for friends and neighbours from his birthplace in Guangdong, China.The factory produced famous “Lion” brand flashlights with a workforce of about 100.

Our first order was for stainless steel salt and pepper shaker moulds. However, the customer cancelled the order when the moulds were completed. Sunbeam decided to make the shakers all on our own and promoted them to UK. Success came quickly as the company’s rugged and durable products.

Dr. Henry Yu, the second generation of Yu’s enterprise, developed Sunnex Products Limited producing stainless steel items.To signify the next step forward after Sunbeam, he chose “Sunnex” as the company name – retaining the word “Sun” and adding the letters “nex” for next.

Sunnex tea sets came with a serving tray which had an extended edge for easy carrying. 31300 and 21800 Stackable Series were well accepted by restaurants. In UK, Sunnex teapots were sold over 1 million sets.

To grasp the incentives of the mainland economic reform, Sunnex moved production base from Hong Kong to China. We built our own factory in Nanao of Shenzhen with a total production area of 42,000 sqm.

After conducting a thorough market research, Mr. Michael Yu,the third generation of the enterprise, set up China Sales Department. The trade mark, “ ”was registered for the mainland market. Now Sunnex South and North Sales Centre distribute products to all the provinces and main cities in China.

Sunnex launched our first electric soup warmer which received unprecedented recognition from customers around the globe. The success triggered us to further develop various types of electrical appliances, such as digital temperature controlled chafers and dispensers.

Burano Chafer was developed. It features a break-through technology – accurate temperature control system which largely minimizes temperature discrepancy to 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. Besides, it has 3 level temperature presets for easy operation. The advanced hydraulic hinge is equipped for smooth and slow closing, and guarantees 80,000 times of opening and closing.
